Split cable entry systems for food technology applications
The KEL-ER-BL is a split cable entry system for cables with and without connectors.
The split cable entry frames KEL-ER-BL in the signal colour blue is preferably used in the area of food packaging and processing machines where there is no direct contact with food.
Products in this signal colour are also popular in the pharmaceutical sector.
Thanks to the injected seal and the use of single grommets, the KEL-ER-BL series achieves protection class IP65.
Hygienic design cable entry plates – with a very smooth surface
The hygienic cable entry plates KEL-DPZ-HD with metric threads from M32 to M63 have been developed for installation in food processing and packaging machinery. The KEL-DPU-HD is particularly characterised by its solid robust frame and the increased strain relief of the routed cables. The KEL-DPU-HD 24 matches exactly the cut-out dimensions of 24-pin standard industrial connectors.
During the development according to the Hygienic Design guidelines, care was taken to ensure that the visible sides of the cable entry plate are free of dirt-collecting recesses. The surface was kept very smooth. The value for the surface roughness (acc. to ISO 4287) is only Ra = 0,421 μm (arithmetic mean).
The outer contour has a radius of 6 mm instead of the required minimum of 3 mm.
The hygienic cable entry plates use an FDA-compliant elastomer in accordance with food approvals 1935/2004/EG and (EU) 10/2011. In addition, hygienic icotek cable entry plates are detergent resistant (ECOLAB certified).
The hygienic cable entry plates are designed to route several cables and hoses with a diameter range of 3.2 mm to 22.2 mm and seal them acc. to IP65/66/67/68.
Hygienic ST-B-HD plugs (also available as detectable versions ST-B-HDD) can be used for sealing pierced membranes if cables have been removed.
Significant advantages over hygienic stainless steel cable glands are the significantly higher cable density and the flexibility of the cable diameter range as well as great cost savings.
Well tested and certified
Approvals and standards such as flame class UL 94-V0, IP and UL rated ingress protection, UL recognized, DNV, RINA, EN 45545-2 and ECOLAB detergent resistance enable icotek cable entry systems to be real alternatives to conventional cable glands.
